We're happy to bring you a brand new mix from the Algorythmix series.
Hailing from Pretoria, South Africa - Chee has quickly become one of the most decorated and recognized producers in the South African bass music movement. Completely engulfing, intense, intricate and dark, his sound can be described as visceral, schizophrenic bass music. His talent hasn’t gone unnoticed across the borders of his home country, he has become a regular fixture on Noisia podcasts as well as releases on labels as diverse as Buygore and Close 2 Death.

Synthakt is a drum & bass producer with a penchant for punishment from Salzburg, Austria. He fuses pummeling bass and a technical drum sound straight out of hell with dark undertone melodies that would make the hair stand up at the back of your neck. Sinister forces no doubt put him in the crosshairs of Counterstrike, who couldn’t help to notice this rising dark star. His menacing sound has also caught the ears of other ominous overlords such as June Miller, Limewax, Pythius, Cooh, Prolix and The Panacea amongst others.

ALGO017 Malsum - Cold Sweat EP dropping 26 September
Malsum is a veteran multifaceted composer and sound designer from Valencia, Spain. His hard edged neurofunk sound has won him supporters from all corners of the drum and bass scene. After his bootleg remix of a Slayer song he also found a fan in Counterstrike, who approached him for an EP on their Algorythm Recordings imprint.
He is no newcomer to the scene, his music has been released by respected labels such as DSCI4, MedSchool, Fokuz and Citrus amongst others. He’s been on the set lists of Black Sun Empire, Survival, Calyx, Billain, Maztek and many more.
His EP kicks off with Biomechanoid. Combining machines with organics, this aggressive roller is relentless as it’s technical. Next up is Altered States, the powerful play between clean and distorted sounds sets a path to unlock different states of consciousness. MC Shot sets the tone for the intro of Cold Sweat, the breakdown builds up into an infectious hook made up of juxtaposed basslines. Uprising is a collaboration with label bosses Counterstrike, starting off downtempo it builds up and explodes into a cheeky rolling monster. Ruthless is in every sense of the word the perfect title, Malsum takes no prisoners combining fractured breaks and raw broken up neurofunk.
